Create & Edit Categories and Floorplans (A, G, C)
Within Buy Force Live, Categories and Floorplans are essential tools for product management and stocktaking.
Products can be assigned both a Category and or a Floorplan.
Categories:
· Purpose: Categories are used to organise and group products logically within your inventory.
· Function: They help differentiate items into meaningful groups, making it easier to report on and manage products.
· Example: Create a category called "Butcher - Poultry". This allows you to catalogue all chicken products from your butcher together.
Floorplans:
· Purpose: Floorplans define the physical locations where stock is stored and counted during stocktakes.
· Function: Floorplans segment your stocktake count sheets into logical sections to ensure accurate counts and better stock management.
· Example: Assign products to a floorplan called "Main Cold Room", indicating that these items are physically located in that space. During stocktake, the system will expect these products to be counted in that specific location.
Note: Creating a category automatically generates a corresponding floorplan with the same name and vice versa. Any name edits made will also edit the corresponding duplicate (deleting one will not delete its duplicate).
Creating Categories:
1) From your homepage, navigate to Ordering -> Templates -> Categories and Floorplans.
2) Select Add new Template Category.
3) Enter the new Category Name and select Save.
o You can edit the name of an existing category using the EDIT action on the right.
Creating Floorplans:
Floorplans are automatically generated as a duplicate when a category is created. To manage, edit, and create new floorplans:
1) From your login homepage, select Stocktake® Manage Stocktake Floorplan.
2) To add a new floorplan location, select Add new Floor plan from the top left.
3) Name the floorplan, select Stocktake Type, and if you want to See Received qty in your stocktakes (if enabled by your admin).
4) Select Save.
